First edition, first impression. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the half-title "For Lindsay, Love, David, 26: viii: 78". The recipient was Lindsay Duncan who played Dorcas Frey in the first production at the Lyttlelton Theatre in 1978, directed by David Hare. Plenty is Hare's seventh play and was the basis for the 1985 film of the same title starring Meryl Streep, John Gielgud and Ian Mckellen.
