First edition, first printing, the publisher's copy, number 1 of 25 copies signed by the poet, additionally inscribed on the front free endpaper, "To Bill McElwee, our fourth venture together - with every best wish, August Derleth". McElwee was the publisher at Ritten House, and this was Derleth's fourth book of poems. The author August Derleth (1909-1971) was a hugely prolific writer and friend of H. P. Lovecraft. In 1939 Derleth had founded Arkham House for the purposes of publishing works of the Cthulu Mythos (a term Derleth himself coined). Necessarily rare thus.
