First edition. This copy inscribed on the title page, "To Albert Sincavitch, Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin, '49". Excellent copy of Wright's combined biographical essay on his mentor Louis H. Sullivan and malediction on modern America, publishing a group of previously unseen drawings by Sullivan: "The true basis of every living culture will be found above and beyond this sham wherein both authority and education, for their own safety, are ever ready to combine against the inspiration of a man like Louis H. Sullivan. The net result to you and me is what? The waste of what might have been the best of our lives. We, therefore, no longer have access to inspiration in this promiscuous prodigality of the vast commonplace; the massive mentality we presume to call 'America' ..." (pp.7-8).
