First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author "To Philip Murray, with all very best wishes, William Boyd" on the title page. The recipient was Irish bibliophile Dr Philip Murray, author of Adventures of a Book Collector (2009). A Good Man in Africa was Boyd's first novel.
