First edition thus, publisher Arnold Fawcus's copy, number 1 of 28 numbered copies with the following calligraphic limitation notice signed by Geofrey Keynes, "This special edition bound in quarter morocco with added material shewing progressive stages of the printing of the plates is signed by the author & is limited to 28 numbered copies. No. 1. Geoffrey Keynes" . This deluxe copy derives from the publisher's archive held by the descendants of the Trianon Press's founder and publisher Arnold Fawcus. The reduced format 16-colour facsimile appeared one year before the larger format 8-colour facsimile of 1972 - although that three volume edition is a magnificent piece of book making, this smaller format version, as well as being somewhat more wieldy, shows the quality of the Trianon Press's colour facsimile printing at its best.
