First edition, sole impression, number 9 of 250 copies, this copy signed by James Guthrie and also the pressman John Freeman, in the very scarce dust jacket. This beautiful limited edition Pear Tree Press book produced by James Guthrie in memory of his friend the poet Edward Thomas who was killed in the First World War, already scarce in itself, was not issued signed, and is very scarce in the jacket - it is as such genuinely rare thus. No signed copy is recorded at auction. In addition this copy bears the illustrated bookplate (designed by Jean Hersholt) of Louise S. G. Perry, printer for the Periwinkle Press in the 1930s.
