First edition, first impression. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To John & Sheena, Love, Roald, 19/10/83". Sheena Wilkinson was a family friend and hairdresser to Roald's first wife Patricia Neal. Very uncommon: the Witches is the most difficult of all Dahl's books to find inscribed; it was published the year he and his wife Pat divorced, and he married "Liccy", the dedicatee.
